The Colours of a Sunset

Sunsets: Mother Nature with a paint brush. Sometimes she feels vibrant; other times, more serene.

I spend the summers working from a little cottage along the ocean, a cottage with a view. And what a view. Sometimes I take a walk down the beach to expand my view.

A note to any new to sunset photography: always wait until at least half an hour after the sun sets before calling it a night. Unless cloud cover moves in to completely block the light of the sun as it drops below the horizon, colours will intensify before fading away to black. And if the clouds do seem to overwhelm and block the colours, there is nothing to say a break won’t appear before night falls.
