Tidnish Bridge

Many times there is much more to something than meets the eye. For instance, this bridge is a scenic addition to the highway scenery, is a wonderful part of a hike through the area, but it is also a very interesting part of the province’s history. Since the first settlement at Port Royal was established in the early 1600s, there were calls of, “Let’s just take advantage of the narrow isthmus to make travel by ship easier and quicker!” This bridge is a remnant of one of Nova Scotia’s most ambitious engineering projects.
